Well, Stephen Harper and the Conservative party was re-elected. It was not quite the majority that they were looking for, but a larger minority and an opposition that is open to looking at both sides of the floor... not just holding to the party line. Here in the Comox Valley we have John Duncan returning to Ottawa after a three year hiatus. He had previously represented Vancouver Island North for 8 years. For the actual polling counts go to http://www.elections.ca/home.asp
I also think it is significant that this was the 40th General Election in Canada. We now have a strong party with a Godly leadership and with their guidance (God-U-and-I-Dance) Canada is ready to take the Promised Land for God....
The Comox Valley was named for "the Land of Plenty"... (It is a "land of plenty" whose name comes from the First Nations word k'omoks, which means "a celebration of creative abundance.") The question that I would ask is: Are we the Joshua's and the Calebs who are surrendered to God's plan and say "Let us go up at once and possess the land. For we are well able to overcome it." or are we those who would deny God's ability to use us and call ourselves "grasshoppers in our own sight?" (Check out Numbers 13 for the full story http://www.blueletterbible.org/)
Well, the wind is starting to blow in the night. It is exciting I must admit... but I can also tell it is time to shut down this computer as my lights are flickering a bit... LORD, WE NEED A BRIGHT AND STRONG LIGHT IN CANADA!
Praise God for His choice in the Canadian Government.
1Ti 2:1-2 MKJV First of all, then, I exhort that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
